“You’d think that with all the iPad productivity apps, smartphone productivity apps, productivity blogs and techniques and discussions… that we’d be more productive as a result.
Are you more productive? How much more?
I wonder how much productivity comes from new techniques, and how much comes from merely getting sick of non-productivity and deciding to do something that matters, right now.
Isaac Asimov wrote more than 400 books, on a manual typewriter, with no access to modern productivity tools. I find it hard to imagine they would have helped him write 400 more.
Sure, habits matter. So does getting out of your way. But if you want to hide, really want to hide, you’ll find a way.
The instinct to produce great work doesn’t require a fancy notebook.”

We have had some communication gaps on how many leaves store in our standard tables.
Below are the specifications as listed in the front of our catalog.
Depending on the configuration of your table, it may accommodate up to 2 leaves stored beneath the top.
** Please note the second last bullet in the list below. The reason these tables only store 12″ of extensions is because we install double slides, taking away the require space.
Below are listed the terms of storage.
• No storage on single pedestal tables
• No storage on tables that are totally round or square when closed
• 36” width tables store 12” of extensions
• 42” width tables store 24” of extensions
• 42” wide stationary base tables with lengths longer than 84” plus two 12” extensions only store 12” of extensions
• 48” width tables store 24” of extensions
As we are entering into the season of cold weather, I have attached a link below which outlines the importance of maintaining the correct moisture content in the solid wood environment. The colder the temperature gets outside, the dryer the air gets as the frigid air outside decreases the moisture levels in the environment. Also, the more heat that is running inside tends to create a dryer environment. As mentioned in the following article, the relative humidity should be retained at 30% – 50% to avoid complications.
If you do not have a moisture meter, I would recommend you purchase one.

I have found Seth Godin’s writing to be very inspirational and would like to share one of his blog posts with you.
“If you don’t start, you can’t fail. It sounds ridiculous when you say it that way. But of course, it is ridiculous. It’s (quite possibly) the reason you’re stalling. On the other hand, there’s no doubt that, “If you don’t start, you will fail.” Not starting and failing lead to precisely the same outcome, with different names.” – Seth Godin
I have this message taped to my desk and it is indeed motivational, realizing that the fear of failure can deter a great project or innovation. But when we stop and think about it; we have already failed if we don’t try.
